In a recent survey of more than 6,000 corporate marketing professionals across a wide range of industries, it was found that only 9% of senior marketers believe traditional ad agencies are doing a good job of evolving and extending their service capabilities in the digital age. Our latest infographic covers this very topic.

In other words, 91% of marketing leads at various companies think ad agencies are dated, boring, or worse – irrelevant.

That may be why many companies are feeling the need to bring marketing activities in-house, in an effort to both reduce costs associated with keeping the brand current, and also to limit any confusion in dealing the evolution of marketing tactics. After all, why hire an entire agency when you can use one consultant or in-house marketing expert to hire out only when jobs need to be completed?

But for some companies, finding that “expert” can be difficult thanks to one qualifying question – in what trend or tactic does this person need to be an expert? Email marketing? Social media? Brand strategy? Content development?

The digital age brought with it a multitude of continuously-evolving marketing strategies that never seem to settle in order of importance. Email Marketing is still effective today, but it has a healthy competitor in Social Marketing. Similarly, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies are still quite significant, but Content Development is central to any web presence.

The trick is to find someone who has an understanding of the progression of all marketing strategies and brand development tactics. Someone who avoids trend-hopping and buzzwords. Someone who can save you time and money while still delivering the marketing work you need for your company to grow. Someone who can help.
